      Contact between Franco Solare and The Karps originally took place in Los Angeles at a Food and Wine from Italy trade dinner. The offer of “Visit my restaurant anytime” was taken up during the Italy Years! The Solaris, with Senora Melli running the kitchen, feature classic Genovese pesto dishes in a beautiful dining room and terrace overlooking the Mediterannean Sea east of Genoa towards the Cinque Terre.
