Come "dish" at PLATES for this latest round of the "Book & The Cook" culinary dialogs with authors and their books! Local food writer Jeanne Muchnick will profile strategies for getting your family to the dinner table from her just published book "Dinner for Busy Moms." The event will feature food from her simple recipes along with sanity savers to calm mealtime mayhem. Books will be available for purchase for $10 ($6 off regular price) and will be signed by Ms. Mom herself. Chef Karp "Healthy Hangout" Cooking Demonstration
Mamaroneck High School - Friday May 21
Chef Karp will take part in the "Wellness Day" at Mamaroneck High School, talking to the kids about good nutrition, nutrition for athletes, and how easy nutritional food for a healthy hangout. Prix Fixe Early Evening Dining at PLATES
It started as a way to celebrate our 3rd birthday, but due to its popularity has become permanent! Any two courses from our prix fixe menu for $30 - appetizer/entrée, entrée/dessert, or even appetizer/dessert if you're so inclined. Holland America and Food & Wine Magazine Select Chef Karp as Celebrity Chef
Set Sail To Alaska - Culinary Lessons on the High Seas - August 23 - 30, 2009
Chef Matthew Karp has once again been selected as the Celebrity Chef on board the Holland America Cruise Line MS Veendam for a 8 day/ 7 night cruise to Alaska. Chef Karp will be giving cooking lessons on-board in the ships "Studio Teaching Kitchen", deriving culinary inspiration from ports of call in Ketchikan, Glacier Bay, College Fjord, Juneau and Skagway. A once in a lifetime adventure in this, the 50th anniversary year of Alaska's Statehood and the 5th anniversary of PLATES!
