Larchmont Farmer's Market Features PLATES Bread, Fresh Fish and Smoker BBQ pulled pork sandwiches - Opens Saturday May 31st

Starting Sat. May 31st, the Larchmont Farmer's Market is back for its 3rd year and it's bigger and better than ever! PLATES will once again offer fresh baked bread and fresh catch fish under the tent. In addition, Chef Karp is going mobile with his new wood fired Louisiana Smoker, and rolling it up to the market each week where he'll be servin' up hot bbq pulled pork sandwiches and demonstrating just how smokers work.

The Larchmont Farmer's Market now has 15 vendors selling a variety of local and regional farm-grown produce, artisanal cheese, organic produce, chicken and eggs, quiches, wines & ciders, herbs, flowers, and specialty items such as chutneys, sauces, and soaps. The market runs every Saturday - rain or shine - through December 20 from 8:30 am until 2:00 pm, on the Metro North upper parking lot at Chatsworth Avenue (for parking, go up the ramp by PLATES front door).

(Your) Wine Wednesdays

No corkage fee for bringing your own wine on Wednesday evenings. An opportunity for collectors (or anyone, really!) to uncork that special bottle in a great room with a superb meal. PLATES will decant, handle, pour and accommodate the needs of the vintage!

Prix Fixe Early Evening Dining at PLATES

It started as a way to celebrate our 3rd birthday, but due to its popularity has become permanent! Any two courses from our prix fixe menu for $30 - appetizer/entrée, entrée/dessert, or even appetizer/dessert if you're so inclined. We open at 5 pm and the offer holds until 6:30 on Sunday through Thursday Evenings. A great way to enjoy a PLATE-Date with a price break!

Explore the range of Chef Karp's Spring inspirations with our 5 or 7 course tasting menu. $65 or $80. Pair it with wines and you've got yourself a culinary experience! Available Sunday through Thursday Evening.

Set Sail with Chef Matthew Karp - Culinary Lessons on the High Seas

Food & Wine Magazine is thrilled to announce that Chef Matthew Karp has been selected as the Celebrity Chef on board the Holland America Cruise Line MS Veendam for its President's Week Sailing Feb. 18 - 25, 2007. Chef Karp will be giving cooking lessons on-board in the ships new "Studio Teaching Kitchen", deriving culinary inspiration from ports of call in Belize, Guatemala, Costa Maya and Key West. The appointment by Food and Wine puts Chef Karp in the company of some of the finest Chefs in America. Friends of PLATES will be entitled to preferred rates and on-board extras!
